“That’s the point. This is a coming together of all different people…” - Mark, Pride (2014). 

Over the summer, a group of beautifully different people were brought together to create a relatable and powerful program of films that explore the youth of the UK as they rip up the system and find their own way in this strange and confusing world. Throughout the summer, we watched a collection of films we hadn’t yet seen, but continued to find ourselves in as the themes and emotions were ever present and relatable to us.

In the last few weeks of the course we put together a nine week program of these films, ranging from the witty humour of Pride (2014) to the Mods and Rockers of Quadrophenia (1979), but that all follow the theme of burning down tradition and carving your own path through the rubble.
